Couple meme

SIX PAIRINGS I LIKE:
1. Cloud/Aerith (FFVII)
2. Sirius/Remus (HP)
3. Cecil/Lydia (FFIV)
4. Kanda/Lavi (DGM)
5. Ulquiorra/Orihime (Bleach)
6. All/Break (Pandora Hearts)
THREE SHIPS I'VE ABANDONED:
7. Itachi/Sasuke (Naruto)
8. Tyki/Lavi (DGM)
9. US/UK (Hetalia)
THREE SHIPS I'VE NEVER LIKED:
10. Sephiroth/Cloud and Cloud/Tifa
11. Golbez/Cecil
12. Kurogane/Fai
TWO SHIPS THAT HAVE PIQUED MY INTEREST:
13. Reno/Cloud
14. Toya/Yue (CCS)
1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
Golbez/Cecil
Because I finished playing FF4 for a year and didn't even remember Golbez existed ._.
I sorta remember Cecil had a brother, then upon revisiting the game, I believe at the end it took everyone around to coax Cecil to even talk to Golbez. And Golbez was practically trying to murder Cecil throughout the game.
Then Dissidia came out and everyone started making Golbez/Cecil an official pair ![]()
What the hell?! Brotherly love what?! Just what?!And Cecil should totally be with Cain
2. Who do you know that ships #13?
Reno/Cloud
I only know of one guy who ships Rufus/Reno.
And idk what the Reno fans ship, probably not Cloud.
I like to pair Cloud randomly with the FF7 boys excluding Sephy. Reno/Cloud takes the cake as I foresee Rufus/Cloud to be brutal.
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Cecil/Lydia
Little Lydia comforting Dark knight Cecil :3
I'm a sucker for pairings involving a bro/sis that knew the other since very young. It's just so sweet.
4. What is your favorite moment for #1?
Cloud/Aerith
When Aerith appeared in Cloud's dream and went with Sephiroth into the Sleeping Forest ;_;
5. How long have you been following couple #6?
All/Break
2yrs or so. I like all his pairings, Rem, Rufus, Vincent, Gil can all come aboard XD And Will of Abyss too if she wasn't a loli.
6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
Tyki/Lavi
Because it's a total crack pairing which can't hope to get canon justification in like forever.
And it's mostly OOC :/
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?
Urrgh hard choice. Sirius/Remus will always have a special place there, being the longest lasting yaoi pair I like, but lately I'm more interested in Kanda/Lavi.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
KuroFai. Because it actually can be canon orz....
Why is everyone calling Fai a flamboyant rainbow anyway. I really think he's a gentleman who would make any girl with him happy. And I don't like this kind of yaoi pair in every possible way -_-
I used to like Fai/Chi until Clamp dropped teh bomb.
9. What interests you about #14?
Toya/Yue
Total impulse. Because when I first discovered that Toya/Yukito were a pair at 12 it was a bad surprise, I wasn't like oh yeah canon yaoi but like nooo I wanted Yukito/Sakura or Syaoran. It took me a looong time to like shonen-ai, but I strangely liked the Toya/Yue scene instantly.
10. When did you stop liking #7?
Itachi/Sasuke
When TS Sasuke revealed himself to be a major jerk and I'd rather not like incest pairings anymore. Damn I hate Sasuke now.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
US/UK
Eh no, c'mon, it's Hetalia we're talking about, the endless possibilties, all those scandals waiting to be discovered.
12. What's a song that reminds you of #5?
Ulquiorra/Orihime
Opening song of Bleach "Change"
I love that amv.
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Always Cloud/Aerith
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Squeenix pls don't make Cloud/Tifa canon. Amen.
I just don't like Tifa, I think Lightning is strong, but not her.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Cecil/Lydia and Cloud/Aerith.
D'awwww
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
Sirius/Remus
Canon-wise? Lawl nevaaaa.
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
Kanda/Lavi
Canon couple ending? Lawl nevaaa.
18. What would make you start shipping #14?
Toya/Yue
When Clamp went on crack and forgot their canon inseparable pairs and threw them together.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6? Sirius/Remus or All/Break
#6. Quantity please kthxbye
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
Sephiroth. Stay dead. Please.
As if I didn't have enough of it chasing Sephiroth all over in FF7. I am immune to this type of pairing and really, where is the love. They're trying to kill each other ._.
Aerith, climb out of your grave right now.

This is late, but
no offence to her i mean.
i thought cloud and zack were a good pair
Touya/Yukito... they're as coupled together as CLAMP will allow them to be.. Touya gave up all his magical energy for Yukito to live; they're not going anywhere any time soon.
I'm not trying to bash the Clerith pairing, despite my dislike of it. It just seems that, despite the choices presented throughout the first half of the game that ultimately result in Cloud's date, the overall plot between games, official short stories, and movies heavily imply that Cloud and Tifa ultimately wind up together as a couple.
As for Zack in Maiden of the Planet it is confirmed that Aerith loves Cloud for Cloud and not because of Zack. In Case of Tifa which takes place 2 yrs after Aerith's death Cloud lives with Tifa but is seen coming home to get drunk and brush her off while he is still mourning aeris. He loved aeris if he is still mourning her like that after 2 yrs and chooses to move into her church when he faces death instead of remaining with his new family and tifa. Neither would we be seeing unhappy pictures of Cloud in the family portraits with tifa he was so happy with tifa. Either way at the end of Advent he made his peace and is attempting to work harder on his new family. They are both canon in their own right.
Cloud's behavior and mindset in AC aren't related to the way he felt about Aerith; they're related to the way she died and his guilt about the fact that he almost chopped her in half himself, that he couldn't save her. It even states in the "Reunion Files" how he hasn't forgiven himself and needs that forgiveness from Aerith herself in order to move on. Getting drunk at Seventh Heaven could easily be related to that, and his unhappiness as well. Cloud hadn't let himself grieve for his fallen comrade, which led to all the problems he started having and his need to get away on deliveries. Then after he contracted Geostigma, he started to completely cut off contact with his family and friends, trying to get closer to Aerith via the church and Zack on the cliffside because he thought he would be joining them soon. He didn't want to hurt the people he cared about, especially not Tifa and the kids. In his mind he'd already screwed up the new life he was building with her, so why inflict more pain by telling her he was going to die soon?
When tifa reached for him in the end of FF7 he thought it was aeris hand and eagerly reached back until he found out it was tifa's. Then he expresses to tifa how much he wants to meet aeris again.
Its not just maiden of the planet which is as canon as Cot its in the ff7 ultimatum as well that aeris saw the real cloud that was so different from zack. So no she does not view zack and him as the same. She loves cloud for himself. Its also interesting that it is Cleris that is featured in all the other square enix games such as parasite eve 1, tactics, parasite eve 2, kh 1, ff 8 and 9, and kh2. Not to mention dissidia where he returns into aeris's flower field while holding her materia. Not to mention that Nobaru's official artwork is 100% cleris and he is known for drawing all the canon pairs xD.
Where it gets more apparent that cloud will move on with tifa is more towards the end of advent when he is finally able to move on with himself and actually give more of himself to his family and tifa. However as far as merchandise and canon material it seems cloud did in fact have feelings for aeris and she as well.
His reaching for the hand in the Lifestream doesn't necessarily mean that he was hoping it was Aerith. Cloud had all but given himself up for dead then, and reaching for the hand of somebody in the Lifestream when dying seems to be a common theme in the FFVII franchise. Zack reached for Angeal, Kadaj for Aerith (thinking that she was his mother; similar case of mistaken identity). For all we know, he might have thought that was his own mother's hand reaching for him in welcome. His brief hesitation probably came from the realization that he was still very much alive. Tifa had also given herself up for dead, so their wanting to see Aerith again could be reasoned as something to look forward to in a hopeless situation. When you think you're doomed, you'll reach for any kind of hope, even if it's seeing someone you know is dead.
Clerith being featured in other franchises could simply be Squeenix catering to a very popular pairing, or displaying two of the most recognizable characters. Cloud's the hero, Aerith is one of the driving forces behind the plot, and an innocent sweetie who dies in one of the most famous scenes known to gamedom. Most gamers, even those who haven't played the game, know who she is and would get the reference. Tifa, while pretty popular in her own right, doesn't have much to visually identify her at a glance. Pretty dark-haired females in skimpy clothes with big breasts are kind of a dime a dozen in games). Seeing Sephiroth and Cloud in the same, non-FFVII game doesn't mean there's a homosexual master/slave relationship there, so why should being in the same game together automatically mean Aerith and Cloud are a couple? Aerith wasn't the one trying to save Cloud in KH2; that was Tifa. It's also possible that the the artwork might be done to draw interest to the franchise with what appears to be THE romantic pairing of the game. I know the main reason I picked up Advent Children in the first place was due to the interactions of Cloud and Aerith in the original Kingdom Hearts, wanting to know what the story was there since I had never played FFVII at the time. I thought Aerith was Cloud's sweetheart too, until I started playing the game and paying attention to the various character interactions. As for the moment in the field before returning to his own world in Dissidia, that could represent Cloud finding his Promised Land, something the flower field represents. He's returning home after a long stint in what basically amounts to a living hell, so going home to a place and people he only just now remembers would be equivalent to Paradise.
If it's true that Cloud was attracted to Aerith, it doesn't mean that they were soul-mates or star-crossed lovers. Most of us date several people before finding the one we really love, or going back to the person to whom we were originally attracted. Cloud clearly had a thing for Tifa long before he met Aerith, and she occupied his thoughts in several ways even after they met. There's not really any mention of Aerith when Tifa's exploring his memories, and if she meant that much to him on a soul-deep level there would have been at least something. But it's all Tifa. If Cloud felt anything for Aerith apart from friendship and guilt, it definitely vanished in comparison to his long-held feelings for Tifa.
